Great news! Human Service Department has issued the first phase of benefit of issuance to all students households on May 18th that are currently on SNAP benefits. The benefits went to approximately 87,500 student households in the amount of $313.40 for March, April, and May. The phases of P-EBT benefit issuance will be the following:

Phase 1- Issue Benefits to current SNAP EBT student households (May 18th)
Phase 2- Issue Benefits to current Medicaid student households (By end of May)
Phase 3 and 4- Issue benefits via mailed P-EBT card to students that receive free and reduced meals that are NOT on SNAP EBT or Medicaid (Early June)

Please be patient as the benefits are forthcoming and to still encourage families to visit SSO or SFSP sites in your community that are giving breakfast and lunches out.

Class of 2020 Senior High School Graduation:

When: Saturday, May 23rd at 7pm
Where: Maxwell Schools Parking Lot
Who: Seniors will each be allowed 3 carloads of family/friends in addition to their own car to attend
How: We will be holding a drive-in style graduation in the parking lot, where attendees will remain in their cars the whole time, with the exception of one speaker at a time, and the graduates coming up one-at-a-time to receive their diplomas. The graduation will be broadcast via radio on FM 89.7 into the car radios of the attendees, and the radio station will be written on the programs at graduation and put on the website. Neighboring houses in Maxwell should be able to pick up the ceremony on their radios as well, to a certain distance. There will be a senior slideshow on a screen in the parking lot, barring any technical issues. We plan to livestream the graduation on our Maxwell Municipal Schools Facebook page and hopefully record and post it to the school website at a later time as well.

Information for your children to ease stress
03/12/2020
As public conversations around coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) increase, children may worry about themselves, their family, and friends getting ill with COVID-19. Parents, family members, school staff, and other trusted adults can play an important role in helping children make sense of what they hear in a way that is honest, accurate, and minimizes anxiety or fear. CDC has created guidance to help adults have conversations with children about COVID-19 and ways they can avoid getting and spreading the disease.

PowerSchool Mobile App for Parents

We are encouraging our parents and students to take advantage of the PowerSchool App for student's grades, attendance, class schedules and announcement. PowerSchool is a great way to stay connected with how your child is doing in school. The PowerSchool Parent and Student Portal can be accessed through the PowerSchool link on the Maxwell Website or through the mobile app for iOS and Android devices. You will need an ID and Password that can be obtained through Mr. Soto at 575-375-3018. If you have multiple children in school you will need to setup your account initially from the web browser before using the mobile app. This will allow you to link to all your students. Click on the link for a tutorial on how to access and use the PowerSchool App for Parents and Students. If you are needing additional assistance setting up access to your student, you can contact Mr. Soto. How To Use PowerSchool Mobile App
